Randy Ollenberger, Advisor and Independent Board Member

Randy Ollenberger leads BMO Capital Markets’ coverage of the North American oil and gas industry. Randy has been an energy analyst since 1996 and has consistently been among the top ranked oil and gas analysts in Canada. In the 2006 Brendan Wood International Survey, he was ranked as an ‘All Star’ analyst. Prior to joining the brokerage business, Randy worked in the oil and gas industry in Calgary for nine years with PanCanadian Petroleum, the Alberta Petroleum Marketing Commission, and the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP). He has testified as a policy and expert witness before the National Energy Board (NEB), Alberta Energy and Utilities Board (AEUB), and U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Mr. Ollenberger holds a BA in Economics and an MA in Economics from the University of Saskatchewan.

R. Keith MacLeod, Advisor and Independent Board Member

Keith is President of Sproule Associates Ltd., a privately owned geological, geophysical, and petroleum engineering consulting company with over 100 employees.  Keith is considered an expert on upstream issues and challenges faced in development of Canada’s oil sands resource. Keith received his B.S. (Honours) in Engineering from Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology. He worked for Quintana Exploration of Canada and James A. Lewis Engineering prior to joining Sproule in 1984. Keith is active with the Society of Petroleum Engineers, as a Past President of the Canadian Section and as co-chair of the Gas Technology Symposium and Horizontal Well Technology Conferences. Keith has been an industry advisor to the Alberta Securities Commission, and also served on the Oil and Gas Taskforce and Sub-Committee. He is a member of APEGGA, SPEE, and the Petroleum Society of CIM.

Sean Monaghan, Advisor and Independent Director

Sean Monaghan obtained his undergraduate degree in economics at the University of Lethbridge (1982). He obtained his Chartered Accountant (1986) and Chartered Business Valuator (1990) designations while employed with Deloitte & Touche in Canada and Australia. Since leaving public practice, Mr. Monaghan has been a shareholder and executive of several private companies. He is the founder and President of Promac Industries Ltd. a machining and manufacturing business based in Calgary with affiliates in Edmonton, Alberta and Lethbridge, Alberta which currently employ over 100 individualsHe has been involved with the formation and financing of several junior oil and gas companies, including Bellator Exploration Ltd., Viracocha Energy Ltd., Chamaelo Energy Ltd. and Vault Energy Trust. He is a director of Performance Services Ltd., a private company that provides well servicing, abandonment and reclamation services to the energy sector.

George Crookshank, Advisor and Independent Board Member

George Crookshank has over 25 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry. He has been Chief Financial Officer for a number of different companies including EnSource Energy Services Inc., Newport Petroleum Corporation, Ocelot Energy Inc., and CS Resources. As the first Chief Financial Officer for OPTI Canada, George was engaged in raising equity and debt in excess of $5.0 billion in support of OPTI’s oil sands activities. From the time of George’s initial hire in 2002 until his retirement in 2007, OPTI Canada successfully transitioned from a private entity with an initial capitalization of $40 million to a multi-billion dollar public company with significant presence in the oil sands industry. Mr. Crookshank is a chartered accountant with a MBA from the University of Alberta. He has undergraduate degrees in business and education from Acadia University.

Gerard Monaghan, Chief Executive Officer

Gerard Monaghan is the CEO of ETX Systems Inc. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of Lethbridge (1985), a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Alberta (1988), and a Masters in Business Administration also from the University of Alberta (1995). Gerard is a professional engineer, registered in Alberta since 1999. Gerard worked with Syncrude Canada from 1989 to 1999, where he gained valuable experience in the areas of upgrading and extraction. Much of his tenure was spent working on the fluid coking units. He also worked for two years at Exxon's former Research and Engineering facility in Florham Park, NJ, servicing requests from Exxon affiliates. Gerard has expertise with pilot work, process development, business development and process operations. He is responsible for the business related activities for ETX Systems. Gerard has been full time with ETX Systems Inc. since its inception, and has been involved with the development of the IYQ Upgrader since its inception under Envision Technologies Corp.

Wayne Brown, Director

Wayne Brown holds Bachelors (1988), Masters (1991), and PhD (1998) degrees in Chemical Engineering, all from McGill University. Wayne worked for Syncrude Canada at both the Mildred Lake operating facility (1991-94) and at the Edmonton Research Center (1998-99). He worked at McGill University as an Assistant Professor from 1999-2004, where he ran a successful research program. Wayne is listed as principal investigator on a number of patents and patent applications in diverse areas including oil sands processing and biomedical engineering. He is registered as a professional engineer in the the province of Alberta, and was a founding member of Envision Technologies Corp., the company under which the IYQ Upgrader was developed. In 2011 Dr. Brown received a prestigious ASTech award for his development work on the IYQ Upgrading process.
